If you want to find pure baseball joy, you might have to take a trip to the minors. Those small market teams put their heart and soul into trying to make it to the big leagues. Similarly, marketing a minor league team allows you to do so for the love of the game. Using only small space placements, little radio spots, a bit of outdoor and some ingenuity, we were able to not only sell more than a million tickets over just a few years, we won the National Sports Forum Adchievement awards for overall excellence—their highest honor. We were the first non-major sports league team to win, and we did so for three straight years. Not bad for a scrappy team down south.
